Preparation
Damian fuses his Voidwalker into his armor, and his Imp into his sword.
Round 1
Vi
Vi charges the golem with her axe (9+15=24 vs 20, hit!). The golem is immune.
Golem
Golem attacks Vi:
- Sword (15+13=28) hits, parry fails at 23. Heavy slashing damage. Soak fails.
Damian attempts to interrupt and succeeds (21 vs 19).
Damian casts Curse of Agony on the golem, but it has no effect (DM ruling: an iron golem cannot feel pain).
He then casts Banish on the golem, which has no save, but the DM rules that the golem's Magic Resistance allows him one anyway. The golem saves (17-5=12 vs 6+5=11).
The golem attacks Vi:
- Slam (14+13=27) hits, but she parries (18+13=31) successfully.
- Poison Cloud: Vi saves at a 20, reducing damage from critical to heavy. She successfully soaks at a 19. DM rules that the poison cloud is nonmagical, based on the wording of Magic Weapons (i.e. "The golem's weapon attacks are magical" implies that its non-weapon attacks are not magical). Therefore, her Vampy Toughness diminishes the damage to light.
Damian
Damin Fey Steps behind the golem.
He attacks with his sword (13+10=23), hitting! His magical sword inflicts a heavy hit, but the extra fire damage actually heals the golem. Further, the golem's scale diminished the damage anyway to medium. By the same logic, its scale nullifies the healing. Golem takes a medium hit.
Round 2
Vi
Vi grapples the golem (6+15 vs 14+7...it's a tie, status quo prevails) unsuccessfully.
She dashes away 30-ft.
Golem
Golem's programming is simple: attack nearest hostile until dead, repeat. Thus, it switches targets to Damian:
- Sword (13+13=26 vs 20) hits, parry (9+10=19) fails, soak (2+2=4) fails, Guardian Force (93) fails. Voidwalker takes a heavy hit, Damian takes medium.
